Building Numbers 1 by 1

We are learning that numbers are not just a digit, but have value and relationship. Today we played a fun game with rods and units. Using a dice we had to build sets of 10 and then exchange the 10 ones for groups of 10! Ask if your student if they won!

Snow White Fun

Our class earned a class reward. The special message was Shaving Cream Play! What a fun and clean brain break. Our room smelled great! It is always fun, when we work hard and earn a treat.

Texas Came to Life Tonight!

Wow!  The kids did a great job bringing Texas to Life.  I am so proud of all the students.  This was a great chance to build self confidence while integrating out Social Studies unit.   To all those that couldn't be in the audience, sit back and enjoy the show!

Read Across America Day!

The mystery is solved...

Today is Read Across America Day! We were treated to a special mystery reader. I was so excited when the kids used my clues to guess that our guest was my dad!

It was a great Go Texan Day! Everyone did a wonderful job. Thanks to the specials teachers for making it perfect!

The ABC Train...

Chug, chug, we can alphabetize!  Today we worked on alphabetizing words that had the same starting letter.  Using weather words we sorted the words by their first letter.  After students made groups, we moved to the next letter until we were able to make a train of words in the right order.

I hope you like our train of weather words (we are learning about weather and seasons in Science - this was a great way to mix Reading and Science).  This was the finished product!

And the love continues...

What a great day of love! We celebrated our love for writing by sharing our writing with special guest.

The afternoon was full of love for our friends as we celebrated with sweet valentines!
